Leadership IRL
Leadership IRL is a practical, people-centered workshop designed to equip leaders with essential tools for navigating both the human and productivity sides of leadership. This session explores the key skill sets required to lead effectively, grow and engage followers, and create a sense of belonging in the workplace. Through real-world examples, interactive table activities, and guided discussion, participants will connect leadership concepts to everyday workplace situations. Whether participants are new leaders or experienced managers, this session provides actionable strategies to strengthen leadership impact and effectiveness. The session will conclude with light discussion and workplace application to reinforce learning.

Liz Carlson is a communication strategist, public speaker, and adjunct professor at the University of Sioux Falls. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication/Speech and a Master of Business Administration. With more than 20 years of experience in corporate leadership, sales training, and professional development, Liz helps professionals and teams elevate their communication effectiveness and confidence.
She has taught both graduate and undergraduate communication courses and designs custom training for organizations across sectors. Through her company, Liz Carlson Professional Development, she supports clients in strengthening their ability to lead with clarity, purpose, and presence.
